The Stable Scoop: Stories From Stable Friendships

Stable Smiles: New Barn, Same Magic
At our new barn, something beautiful is happens. Our young friends don’t always realize they’re here for therapy—because to them, it just feels like showing up for their equine friend.
Behind each quiet hello is something deeper: motor planning, emotional regulation, sensory integration, and meaningful connection.
In a moment as simple as clipping a lead rope, a child is building confidence, engaging their body, and doing therapeutic work—without it feeling like work. That’s the power of equine-assisted therapy. 🐴❤️
Our News
🎉 We are Official ! 🎉
We are incredibly proud to announce that Stable Friendships Foundation is now officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization by the IRS!
This milestone represents more than just a change in status — it’s the launchpad for the next chapter of our mission. With this designation, we can now formally apply for grants, and grow our fundraising efforts to sustain and expand our programs.
But even more meaningful than the paperwork is the unwavering support we’ve felt from this community. To those of you who believed in our vision—before the IRS did—thank you. Your encouragement, time, donations, and belief in the healing power of horses helped us get to this moment.
As we look ahead, we’d love your help:
👉 Do you know of a local grant opportunity, business donation match program, or employer-sponsored giving fund?
👉 Are you connected to a foundation or organization that supports therapy, education, or animal-assisted programs?
Every tip or introduction can go a long way in helping us build sustainable support. If something comes to mind, please reach out to us at [email protected].
We’re just getting started, and we’re so glad you’re on this journey with us. 🐴💛

We’re in The News 📰
We’re honored to be featured in The Recorder’s Pets & People section (pg. 9) in an article titled “Paws and Effect: How Animals Boost Our Health and Help Us Heal.” 🐴
The piece spotlights Stable Friendships Foundation and our unique use of hippotherapy—a combination of physical, occupational, and speech therapy supported by equine movement. As shared in the article, “The need is very much there, especially for this area,” said Melissa Jarzynski, our physical therapist and Hippotherapy Clinical Specialist.
We’re proud to be among a small number of centers offering these science-backed services in Westchester—and beyond. Thank you to The Recorder for helping share the healing power of horses.
